We know that in most cases, losing weight and burning fat quickly takes a lot of effort.

Yes, you can get in shape quite quickly in 2013…but…you’ll need to be willing to go the extra mile. If you want results really fast, then you need to move really fast.

You can always fix your weight issues but you need to first break the negative cycles and create new, healthy ones for yourself.

Fine Tune Your Diet for 2012

The first things you need to focus on is getting a handle on the types of foods you’re eating. You want to be eating “real” foods and organic foods as much as possible. You can’t go wrong be sticking to foods that aren’t processed and have additives. The closer the product is to the real thing, the better. For example, going to the deli for your meats is better than most packaged meats. Keeping yourself away from processed foods, fast foods, frozen foods, and so forth, is a must. The best thing you could do is talk to a nutritionist and evaluate which the best diet is for you but we’re going to be focusing on the high protein diet here.

Studies have shown that people who increase their daily intake of protein experience positive side effects such as weight reduction, a lower caloric intake, and a less food cravings. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that these kinds of benefits were obtained when calories from fat were reduced to 20% of overall caloric intake, calories from protein were increased to 30%, and carbs accounted for 50% of calories. When participants followed this diet their overall caloric intake was reduced by 441 calories. Experts say that if you want to use protein as a means to lose weight then you should shoot for getting 120 grams of protein per day.

Overall, high quality protein is very healthy for the human body and trialing a high protein diet makes sense if you’re trying to lose weight via dieting, especially if you are including cardiovascular exercise or resistance training. Many people see excellent results in terms of a reduction in fat when using the high protein diet/exercise combo. I can attest to this from personal experience. I use whey protein supplements as an aid to resistance training and I’ve noticed that ingesting protein makes me feel full longer, gives me more energy, and keeps cravings for unhealthy foods at bay.
